Eva Jinek soon after Humberto Tan? ‘That would be very sad’

It would be sad if the same thing happened to Eva Jinek as colleague Humberto Tan happened, says TV connoisseur Bert van der Veer. “So what should be done? She must gain respect.”

Humberto Tan made a successful talk show for years, until his program suddenly collapsed like a house of cards. Lately, RTL 4’s current talk show star Eva Jinek has been fighting falling ratings. It doesn’t help that she is constantly ridiculed by the men of Today Inside.

Eve under fire

The men of Today Inside think that the subjects in Eva’s talk show are becoming more and more infantile and that the program is also far too long.

It has also not escaped the attention of the well-known TV director Bert van der Veer that Eva is under heavy fire from VI. He writes on his viewing channel: “It is certainly not the style of the VI men to give useful and subtle advice to a colleague. So Eva Jinek got quite a beating. It was wrong there.”

Four causes

Bert outlines the four causes that the VI men believe underlie her decline. “Jinek was ordered to do more lightheartedness (1), the talk show lasts much too long (2) with the result that the presenter has lost control (3) and motherhood beckons there (4).”

How does Bert look at it? “It would be sad if what happened to Humberto Tan happened to Eva Jinek. So what should be done? Point 1 is nonsense, point 2 must be acted upon quickly, point 3 is also nonsense and point 4 could just be relevant.”

Get respect

He supplements the two points that are valid according to Bert with some additional advice: “Rest: more well-prepared and confrontational interviews please (5) and set limits (6) on ‘ordinary’ subjects.”

He concludes: “The battle for ratings is less important than maintaining and gaining respect.”
