Arminia Bielefeld is about to sign a new coach. He is no stranger to the club.

- A surprising choice: Bayer Leverkusen has found a new coach
As the “kicker” reports, a transfer agreement still needs to be made with his current club Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has been responsible for the second team there since January.
Kirch began his playing and coaching career in Bielefeld
The 43-year-old played 77 competitive games for Arminia Bielefeld between 2007 and 2010 and then for Kaiserslautern, Borussia Dortmund and SC Paderborn. In total he played 143 games in the Bundesliga and 27 games in the 2nd league.
He began his coaching career as a youth coach in Bielefeld in 2020. He came to Gladbach in 2023 via a stopover at Hamburger SV. He was U19 coach there until January.
Bielefeld parted ways with successful coach Mitch Kniat in May. He was promoted to the second division with Ostwestfalen and reached the DFB Cup final last year. However, after 13th place last season, it was over.
