Elisa Balsamo drops poker at the Giro Women. Yet another memorable sprint for the 28-year-old from Cuneo who won the sixth stage from Ala to Brescello, an almost completely flat 160km section. Balsamo, already in possession of the red jersey as leader of the points classification, preceded the Canadian Maggie Coles-Lyster and the Australian Georgia Baker in the sprint. Fifth place for Chiara Consonni, ninth for Alessia Zambelli.

CLASSIFICATION

An Apennine stage divided into two parts: the first along the Po Valley up to Piacenza and then crossing the Oltrepò hills with the top of the hill in Pietragavina.
