In 2023, the baseball players lost their A-status from Sportkoepel NOC-NSF. This meant a considerable financial loss for International Huijer. “Due to the loss of the European Championship in 2023 we lost our A-status. That cuts in. I had to look for work. I had found it that way. Only then do you have a different life. From the age of fifteen I have been a profile and I have always been paid. The finances then fall away. Then you have to get baseball, work and a family,” says Huijer.
At the end of May it was announced that the baseball players will get their A-status back, because the club is now seventh on the world ranking.

Huijer today threw three innings into the 6-4 match against Kinheim. Coach Gino Henson believes that his team should do better. “There has to be a little bit. Lately we have fallen too much stitches. We play very exciting competitions. I think we think too easily about it,” was Henson’s comments afterwards.
