Liam Gallagher doesn’t want to play Oasis songs live on tour

There probably won’t be any Stone Roses songs on the tour with John Squire.

The former Oasis singer has teamed up with ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire for a record. Their work LIAM GALLAGHER AND JOHN SQUIRE will be released on March 1st, 2024 and the two will also give concerts in Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany and America. Liam Gallagher has now made it clear that the audience shouldn’t expect old songs from them as it would simply feel “stupid” to play them live.

Too much meaning?

In an interview with “Radio When asked about the oldies in the interview, he said: “We don’t do any of that [Tracks von Oasis und The Stone Roses]. It’ll just be this album and maybe a few covers that we might get to, but it won’t be our other bands and stuff because that’s stupid.”

In the interview, Gallagher was also asked to answer whether the reason for the lack of the old hits was the stale feeling of karaoke, to which he said: “No, but these songs just mean too much to me.” By which he probably didn’t mean the Oasis pieces – He could easily sing them live if he wanted to. But he couldn’t perform his favorite Stone Roses songs “I Am The Resurrection”, “Waterfall”, and “Made of Stone” on stage because he would have too much respect.

The tour starts on March 13th in Glasgow. Listen to the track “Just Another Rainbow” here:
