Lahti only candidate for Nordic World Ski Championships 2029

The Finnish winter sports metropolis Lahti is the only candidate for hosting the Nordic World Ski Championships 2029. This was announced by the International Ski Federation FIS on Wednesday after the application deadline.

This means that the award in June 2024 is only a matter of form. For Lahti it would be the eighth World Cup, the title fights only took place there in 2017.

Narvik (Norway), Soldeu (Andorra) and Val Gardena (Italy) have applied for the 2029 Alpine World Championships. For the Ski Flying World Championships 2028, only Planica in Slovenia is scheduled to compete.
