When Ron-Robert Zieler (33) is supposed to set up his dream team as part of the Transfermarkt interview, one thing is definitely a must for him, in contrast to his predecessors: “I’ve decided to only choose guys with whom I’ve already played together have.” Also clear for the captain of Hannover 96: He himself is also there.

“Of course I could say Manuel Neuer because I played with him and because I think he’s one of the best goalkeepers. But I would find it boring if I wasn’t there in some way, so I put myself forward,” Zieler explains with a laugh, his choice between the posts. And so ten companions from times at Hannover 96, Leicester City, VfB Stuttgart, 1. FC Köln and the DFB-Elf, some of whom became very close friends of Zieler, find their way into the dream team in the 4-4-2 system .
But the goalkeeper never played with one player in a competitive game: Per Mertesacker (38). “He has a bond with Hanover and also played for 96,” says Zieler, who was regularly nominated for the DFB team with Mertesacker between 2011 and 2014. “I really enjoyed playing with Per.” As for other former teammates Zieler has taken into account, you can find out in the video!
