Bayern star fulfills dream of your own café

Most Bayern fans are known to Jovana Damnjanović as an ice-cold goal scorer. Now it also serves hot drinks.
Bayern striker Jovana Damnjanović has built up a second mainstay in addition to professional football and also fulfilled a lifelong dream. The 30-year-old opened a café in the Munich district of Neuhausen-Nymphenburg with the “Nine Fine Fine Roastery”.
There are hardly any references to football in the café. “I didn’t want a football bar, but a café in which everyone feels comfortable in which the neighbors come because there is a good coffee and you can put together in peace,” said Damnjanović in the club’s own interview on the website.
According to Damnjanović’s information, the opening was the opening of the café, because her mother was already running a small café in Serbia. “It was cool – people met a coffee, it was a coming and going, for me it was completely normal to be there after school – I thought it was super beautiful, the atmosphere, and I knew: At some point I would like to do it that way,” said the striker.
Damnjanović completely took over the preparation of the premises – also had the help of their teammates. “I generally had clear ideas about how everything should look. In this café everything is 100 percent Jovi,” she said. A few dishes are also served in the café, from which some are also named after teammates such as Giulia Gwinn or Linda Dallmann. The entire team was also on site at an opening party.
Damnjanović has been playing for FC Bayern since 2017 and came to the Bavarian capital at VfL Wolfsburg and SC Sand. Living there has always been her dream, she said: “I knew from the beginning, Munich is my city – and now I’ve been here for almost eight years. I’ve been very lucky.”
