The electric trucks have a range of up to 500 kilometers. Although an e-truck with a price tag of approximately 270,000 euros is more than twice as expensive as a diesel variant, the operating costs are lower. This means that energy costs are cheaper and the company pays less mileage tax. Eutraco mainly uses the vehicles on fixed routes between factories, warehouses and ports.
“We deploy those trucks on fixed networks and fixed rounds. The trucks always load at Eutraco’s own site. This is perfectly workable within that geographical area,” says CEO Serge Gregoir.
