The municipality recognizes that the intersection is a problem location. “The intersection is known to us. It is a blackspot.” A blackspot occurs when more than three accidents occur per year. According to police figures, things have gone seriously wrong at this location four times since January 2025.
Roundabout
To improve road safety, the municipality wants to adapt the intersection in the short term. According to the municipality, a roundabout could be a good solution. It is still unclear when they will start working on this.
Vrijhoef is positive about the announced measures. “It’s good that the municipality is finally taking steps,” says Vrijhoef. “I hope it will be safer and clearer.”
