The German U21 starts in the European Championship. The selection of coach Antonio di Salvo has title opportunities at the tournament in Slovakia – and exciting players in their luggage.
The U21 European Championship in Slovakia started on Wednesday. On Thursday evening, the German national team against Slovenia (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online) will also start the tournament.
And of course the DFB juniors are not just about playing the title, but at best also recommended for Julian Nagelsmann. Because apart from striker Nick Woltemade, none of the current U21 kickers was allowed to make an assignment for the A national team. You should keep an eye on these three players.
Due to his club affiliation, Collins is of course already known to many football fans. In his time in the youth of Borussia Dortmund, he was considered a great talent of defense, not least because of his speed. However, Collins had to take a detour through the Frankfurt regional league team and is now firmly established in the Bundesliga team of Dino Toppmöller. There he is particularly positive as a right -back. Collins was originally at home and can continue to play there, but defending on the outside is currently slightly better than the duel management at the center of the final defense.
In any case, nothing has changed in Collins’ dynamics and pace, which is why he also has good ownership values, especially if he has some space in front of him. It also forms a certain contrast to other young defenders such as Yann Bisseck or Armel Bella-Kotchap, who most recently made it into the A team. And outdoor and semi-defenders in particular are always in demand, because there are no such many high-class ones in Germany.
One likes to forget that Röhl is only 22 years old, because a few seasons before FC Ingolstadt he was an emerging midfielder in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the meantime he is at home at the sports club, but is still looking for a permanent regular place. In the past season, two injuries – a syndesmosis tap and heel problems – threw Röhl back in the meantime. In addition, he still has the question of the perfect position in midfield. At Ingolstadt he started his professional career as a tens because the 1.90 -meter -native native of Potsdam lost the physique, but he had a good offensive instinct.
In Freiburg, Röhl is currently commuting between the central midfield and a role as a tens or shadow striker. Depending on the system, it would also be conceivable that he can act in a three -way middle field in the half position. Flexibility is on the one hand a plus, on the other hand, it can also lead to a player does not work properly. Due to the injuries mentioned, Röhl was used for the last time in September for the U21 team of Antonio Di Salvo-and at that time on paper as a left wing on the side with Woltemade, with which he probably forms the most technically experienced large duo in the junior area. Let’s see if the two can also whirl together at the European Championship.
