The legislative elections of October 26, 2025, which renewed 127 seats in the Deputies and 24 in the Senate, left a significant political and sociocultural fact: the record landing of evangelical leaders in Congress. With a national victory of more than 40% of the votes, La Libertad Avanza (LLA) capitalized on its alliance with conservative Christian sectors and managed to get at least six leaders of that profile to reach Parliament—a senator and five deputies—according to religious organizations. Pastors, pro-life lawyers and activists of traditional values will now occupy a key role in the ruling party.
Chubut: the emergence of Maira Frías
In Chubut, LLA broke the Peronist hegemony by a minimum margin of 1,851 votes (28.4%). Elected deputy Maira Raquel Frías, a 34-year-old lawyer and head of ANSES in Comodoro Rivadavia since 2021, became the province’s first libertarian legislator. Evangelical, mother of a daughter and with direct contact with Karina Milei – who imposed her candidacy – celebrated the result in a religious tone: “Today God consecrated us first.” Frías anticipated full support for the economic program and the defense of the traditional family.
Neuquén: Nadia Márquez, central figure
Neuquén marked another milestone for Milei: with 36% of the votes, LLA displaced the MPN and was left with two senators and one deputy. The protagonist of the triumph is Nadia Judith Márquez, Baptist pastor, lawyer and pro-life activist, now a national senator. Councilor since 2023, author of books on faith and politics and a reference in the anti-abortion discourse, she led a ballot in which Gastón Riesco and Soledad Mondaca also entered. Its presence guarantees a strong evangelical voice in the Senate and projects it as a key piece in the relationship of the ruling party with the churches.
Santa Cruz: an unexpected brake for Milei
In contrast, Santa Cruz gave a victory to Kirchnerism with the priest Juan Carlos Molina, former head of Sedronar and founder of the Valdocco Foundation. With 32% of the votes, he took the seat from LLA and caused a political shock: Governor Claudio Vidal demanded the resignation of the entire provincial cabinet. Molina, close to Máximo Kirchner and questioned for alleged irregularities in transfers of minors, celebrated his victory with a combative slogan: “The lie did not win, the people won.”
Thus, the new Patagonian names join other Christian references of Mileism, such as Mónica Becerra (San Luis) and Miguel Rodríguez (Tierra del Fuego). The advance consolidates a conservative core willing to influence debates on abortion, sexual education, cults and family values. For some, a sign of retreat; for others, a counterweight to progressivism.
With 80 deputies and 10 senators, Milei will have ideological and spiritual support in Congress. And Patagonia, historically disputed by political models, now adds a new actor: the evangelical faith as a force of legislative power.
