Clarity in the Bundesliga relegation battle: two clubs hit it on Saturday.
Decision made: VfL Bochum and Holstein Kiel descend from the Bundesliga. Bochum lost 1: 4 against Mainz 05 on the penultimate match day, Kiel collected a 1-2 bankruptcy at home against SC Freiburg. Both teams will play in the 2nd Bundesliga in the coming season.
Bochum has now relegated from the Bundesliga for the seventh time. The team of coach Dieter Hecking completely went down in front of 26,000 spectators in the Ruhr Stadium, was far too harmless. Because competitor 1. FC Heidenheim won at 1. FC Union Berlin (3-0), the Bochumern itself would not have helped a victory.
