No trains ran between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA due to the broken overhead wire. There were also no intercity trains between Schiphol Airport and Leiden Central, and fewer intercity direct trains between Schiphol and Rotterdam Central.
The disruption occurred on the same weekend as the work around Amsterdam Zuid station. Since Saturday, travelers have had to take into account fuller trains, more crowds on platforms and an adjusted timetable. But according to the NS, the broken overhead line was unrelated to this work.
The adjusted timetable due to the work will last until Tuesday, January 28.
