Train traffic between Emmen and Zwolle is currently at a standstill between Hardenberg and Gramsbergen due to a collision on the track.
A train collided with a car near Loozen near Hardenberg. For unknown reasons, the car drove onto the railway crossing at Schooldijk in Loozen and collided with the train.
A spokesperson for the safety region reports RTV East that the driver climbed out of the car wreck herself. She was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. Passengers have been removed from the train.
Train traffic between Hardenberg and Gramsbergen is expected to be at a standstill until the early afternoon. Buses are deployed.
The railway crossing in question is one with railway barriers, reports a ProRail spokesperson. She says that the car must be removed with a krol, a kind of excavator that can drive on the track.
