She looks back on her time at the campsite, where things were not always easy for her. “It was confrontational and traumatic, really a matter of survival,” says Groot. Because she cannot take all her belongings with her, she rents a storage space in Amersfoort for 300 euros per month.

She has still not found her own home, which means she is forced to stay with her boyfriend in Purmerend for the time being. She does not give up her search. “I still hope to find a home in or around Enkhuizen. That would make life a lot easier. Especially because I have to take my son to school and pick him up in between working.”

‘Unfortunately became someone else’

At the kitchen table in Purmerend she tells us that she has responded to an upstairs apartment in Enkhuizen, exactly in the street where her massage parlor is located. But a few days later it turns out that she has missed the net. “Unfortunately it turned out to be someone else,” she says disappointed.
