A suspicious package was found at the Fokkingeslag in Emmen last night. Several emergency services were on site and the explosive ordnance disposal service investigated. Ultimately, the package turned out to be harmless.
The police took the discovery of the package very seriously and scaled up to a Grip 1 situation. As a precaution, three homes in the nearby area were evacuated. When an investigation by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service showed that the package was harmless, the residents were able to return to their homes.
