Liverpool, Napoli and Rangers FC. Those are the opponents of Ajax in Group A of the Champions League. The group stage starts on Tuesday, September 6 and ends on Wednesday, November 2.
Ajax has been the group head again for a long time. And with that, the team from Amsterdam avoided clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Liverpool
The first ball that was opened in Istanbul on Thursday evening was that of Ajax. The number two in the group is Liverpool. The England squad is last season’s finalist in the Champions League. Liverpool then narrowly lost to Real Madrid (0-1).
Napoli and Rangers FC
Ajax will also meet a very strong opponent from Pot 3 with Napoli. The Italian club finished third in Serie A last season. And the last team in group A is Rangers FC. The Scots defeated PSV in the play-offs last night.
