The new album KISS THE BEAST
On January 30, 2026, Tellier will release his seventh studio album KISS THE BEAST. According to his own statements, it combines all the musical facets of his career to date – “from pop to folk to electronic music”. According to the press release, the record is an “opulent sound manifesto”.
Tellier has already released two singles from the new album, “Refresh” and “Naïf de Coeur”.
Listen to “Naïf de Coeur” here:
Sébastien Tellier, whom ME once described as the “epitome of the modern bon vivant,” has been releasing music since his debut album in 2001 and has shaped the French Touch era. Most recently, his record DOMESTICATED was released in 2020. Since then he has written three film scores and released two EPs.
With his music, Tellier “slips into the role of the omnipotent pleasurer who triggers multiple orgasms and considers himself the greatest French playboy since Serge Gainsbourg,” wrote ME author Marcel Anders about Tellier’s album SEXUALITY. Although the Frenchman doesn’t have Gainsbourg’s linguistic wit or musical class, he does offer “spacey 80s synth pop with velvety, silky harmonies, lustful crooning and minimalist lyrics that oscillate between English and French”.
Since then, Sébastien Tellier has also been known from catwalks, fashion formats, film music and directing work.
