In the market value update for the Greek Super League 1, midfielder Giannis Konstantelias has come a little closer to the top position occupied by Christos Mouzakitis. The 19-year-old midfield talent from record champions Olympiakos Piraeus has been number one in the Greek market value ranking since December with 25 million euros and has remained consistent this time. However, his 23-year-old rival from PAOK Thessaloniki is now just €3 million away.
Konstantelias increases by 2 million euros to 22 million euros, making it one of the five biggest winners of the update. The Greek international, who was once on the verge of a move to VfB Stuttgart, receives his third consecutive bonus after contributing 14 goals and nine assists in 40 games for PAOK across all competitions. He was recently linked again with VfB in the transfer market rumor mill – the player is said to have been offered to the Swabians.
Behind them, Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis in third place extends his lead as the biggest winner of the update. The 23-year-old, who has played eight international matches since 2024, jumps by 3 million to 18 million euros. In 32 league games last season, Tzolakis remained 19 times without conceding a goal – the top figure in Greece ahead of champion goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha (18 clean sheets in 30 games), who, however, has a slightly better rate. In the rumor mill, the Olympiacos goalkeeper was traded to Arsenal and Juventus in the spring.
Market values Greece: Jović reaches highest value since 2023
Piraeus’ Italian central defender Lorenzo Pirola, up to 11 million euros, and former Frankfurt top striker Luka Jović will also increase by 2 million euros each. For the 28-year-old Serbian, it is the third increase since his move to AEK Athens last summer. After Jović contributed 17 goals to the capital city’s championship and was also successful three times in the Conference League before reaching the quarter-finals, he now stands at 9 million euros. This is the highest rating for the former DFB Cup winner in three years, when he was still in the service of ACF Fiorentina.
The biggest losers of the update are an octet around left winger Anass Zaroury from Panathinaikos Athens. They will all be devalued by one million euros, the winger mentioned as an example to 7 million euros. Overall, the market value of the Greek top league remains constant at around 539 million euros. Masters AEK with an increase of 3.7 million to 77.6 million euros is the biggest winner of both squad values, in percentage terms OFI Crete increased the most with a jump of 14.1 percent (2.15 million euros) to 17.4 million euros.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
