Indian Wells (AP) – Tennis star Rafael Nadal has reached the quarterfinals at the Masters in Indian Wells and extended his impressive winning streak.
The 7: 6 (7: 3), 7: 6 (7: 5) against Reilly Opelka on Wednesday was his 17th win in a row, the 35-year-old Spaniard has not lost a match this year. In the quarter-finals, Nadal meets Australian Nick Kyrgios, who reached the next round without a fight because his opponent Jannik Sinner from Italy withdrew before the duel due to an unspecified illness.
After the early exit of Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev, number four seeded Nadal is now the top favorite to win one of the most important ATP tournaments of the season.
