Tragic accident in France: The Spanish motorcycle racer Borja Gómez died on Thursday at the age of only 20. The incident occurred during the first free training at the Stock-European Championship on the Magny Cours course. Gómez fell with his Honda.

His racing team Laglisse confirmed the driver’s death over Instagram. “We have to announce with deep grief that Borja Gómez died,” wrote the team. The article said that he would be remembered as a “great person”. His friendliness and smile would remain unforgettable.

Gómez comes from San Javier near Murcia. In the years 2022 and 2023 he competed in the Moto2 World Cup and contained a total of 15 races. Once he managed to jump into the dot length. In the current season of the Stock-European Championship, Gómez was at the head of the overall ranking. In Estoril he drove to second place, he had won in Jerez. The Spaniard had also participated in the Supersport World Cup in 2021 and 2024.
