According to a newspaper report, Oliver Blume will be giving up his dual role as CEO of Volkswagen and Porsche starting next year.
As the Bild newspaper reports, the Porsche supervisory board has agreed on a successor. The name will be kept secret. It was leaked from supervisory board circles that it was a man. “He is technically adept and no stranger to the Volkswagen world,” writes the newspaper. The supervisory board of the VW subsidiary Porsche should vote on the personnel as soon as possible.
There was initially no comment from Porsche. Blume has been CEO of the sports car manufacturer for around ten years. In the summer of 2022, he also took over as CEO of Volkswagen AG following the departure of Herbert Diess. In recent years, investors have repeatedly questioned Blume’s dual role, and in some cases there has been clear criticism. On Thursday, Blume told the German Press Agency that his dual role was “not designed to last forever.”
