Bryne FK not only trained Haaland, the club also has a special rooting in local agriculture. This led to a special honor.

In the Premier League it was a long tradition: Anyone who was voted the “player of the game” received a bottle of champagne as a reward. These times are over. In the meantime, small trophies are presented – at least in England.

In Norway you go other ways. Bryne FK, the former youth club in Erling Haaland, has recently honored his “player of the game” in an unconventional way: with eggs.

The first division promoted from the southwest of Norway lost to the Europa League quarter finalist Bodö/Glimt 0-1 on Sunday. But despite the defeat, goalkeeper Jan de Boer convinced with several parades and a held penalty in the second half. The Dutch was awarded for his performance after the final whistle – with four packages of eggs.

The unusual price is directly related to the club’s identity. Bryne FK is closely linked to local agriculture. Meat and milk production shape the region, and the association also lives this roots in everyday football.

So it is not uncommon for fans to chant during the games: “We are farmers and we are proud of it.” If you have the necessary change, you can even follow the home games from a tractor-special VIP cards make it possible.
