Mestdagh and his team had closed the regular competition as a leader. It won 15 of the 18 games and took 33 points. In the way to the final, as a leader, it first had to deal with the team that finished eighth – and lowest play -off participant – Torun.
The three confrontations were ultimately easily won, so that in the semi -finals with Sosnowiecec it had to pay on the way to the final. There too it became a sweep (3-0 in confrontations). In the final, a triple confrontation with the surprising Gorzow awaited. Gorzow did not finish the regular competition until sixth, but switched the number 3 and 2 out in their play-offs Road to the Final.

For Mestdagh it is his first prize in Poland. Earlier, as a national coach, he already obtained bronze with the Belgian Cats at the European Championship in 2017 and 2021. Via De Kortrijk Spurs he eventually ended up in Poland, where he seems to have found the basket happiness again after a difficult period.
