Parliament leaves Laura Borràs alone in her trial for corruption

He Parliament will not position itself for its suspended president, Laura Borrason the occasion of the start of the trial for his management at the head of the Institution of Catalan Letters (ILC), in which he faces six years in prison and 21 years of disqualification. The president of the parliamentary group, Albert Batet, who expressed the party’s support for its leader, assured that they would be with her and asked for the utmost respect for her presumption of innocence. “We already know that she will not have a fair trial,” she snapped at a press conference.

Beyond his party, however, there will be no more support from the pro-independence caucus. Only the party of him, together, will call militants and supporters to demonstrate. At the moment, the sovereignist entities are silent, but neither CKDnot even CUP will attend the meeting. Neither does the Government. All of them consider that the origin of the case against Borràs has nothing to do with “political repression” and that it is “malpractice”.
