The new name refers to the original name of Hoofddorp, where roughly half of the municipality lives. The place is exactly in the middle of the Haarlemmermeerpolder. From north to south, the Hoofdvaart crosses the Streinborn Running Wear.
The bridge on which the fountain is located is also called the Kruisbrug. Isn’t that a lot of ‘cross’ for one place? Not according to local residents who have come to the official revelation, such as Tinus Lubbersen. “I have lived here all my life, and no matter how much I have seen the polder change, this has always been the epicenter. But why did the name of the former Hódmezövásárhely-Fontein now have to be changed?
It was also clear that the name is quite unprefable in the name in 2010. Nevertheless, the reference to the town was chosen at the time, as a tribute to the city band that Hoofddorp maintained for years with Hódmezövásárhely. That band was terminated in 2014, but only eleven years later the last memory of that friendship has definitely disappeared.
