NATO on Friday gave the green light to the establishment of a maritime center for the safety of submarine critical infrastructure. This has been announced by Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The alliance has long been concerned about increased Russian interest in submarine gas pipelines and cables used by member states and possible sabotage.
