As a new parent you can use all the parenting tips. That’s what British Paul Edwards (52) also thought when he published the magazine in April 2007 Mother & Baby ordered. His daughter was still a toddler and his wife was pregnant with their son. The magazine never arrived at the time, but – to his great surprise – it finally arrived on the mat last Friday. Nineteen years too late.

The magazine was accompanied by a note from the British postal service Royal Mail that read: “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
A rather ironic message, says Edwards. The ‘discomfort’ of babyhood is now long gone. His two children are now 18 and 20 years old and have already left the parental home to study.
“It’s completely bizarre,” laughs Edwards, who writes science fiction books in her daily life, to the BBC. “As new parents, you take out a subscription for the useful tips, but in the end you have to figure it all out yourself. We didn’t even really realize at the time that the magazine had never arrived.”
Royal Mail said in a response that the postman probably did not have the magazine in his pocket all that time. Presumably someone recently found the magazine somewhere and threw it into the postal system.
Complaining about mail delivery
A message from the father about the extremely late delivery quickly went viral on social media platform X, where it has now been viewed millions of times. “Complaining about the mail or late trains is an important part of British culture, so many people recognize it,” laughs Edwards.
