This became apparent today during the first pro forma hearing in the Haarlem court.

Hugo TQ was detained in Zuyderbos prison in Heerhugowaard. There, on February 28 this year, he held a female employee hostage in his cell for hours. He allegedly put her in a chokehold, sat on top of her and stabbed her with a sharp object.

The victim was seriously injured. She was not present at the hearing, but her very emotional family and victim support were. The latter said that the event had an immense impact on the victim.

Wound with dough hook or board shards

The Public Prosecution Service suspects 44-year-old TQ of attempted murder and unlawful deprivation of liberty. He injured her with plate shards or a dough hook.

The suspect is currently being held in the Vught PI, he could be heard and seen in the courtroom via a video link.

TQ has been convicted of murder twice. In 2022, he was sentenced to twenty years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment by the Roermond court for killing Laura Scheurs from Blerick (Limburg).

He stabbed her several times in her car on December 8, 2020 for life. They had been in contact some time before, but the victim had broken off this contact a few weeks before the murder.
