“We had a transparent and open exchange with Miki about his sporting future – he has now made the decision to continue his career at another location. We would like to thank him expressly for his achievements with our flag on our chest and wish him all the best for his new challenge,” said sports director Benjamin Weber about the Pole, who appeared on the pitch 79 times for Hertha.
Karbownik came to Berlin from Brighton in the Premier League in 2023 for 1.3 million euros. With the capital city club, where he is the eighth departure, he missed promotion every season. At Basaksehir, coached by Nuri Şahin, he could not only play first-class again, but also in the European Cup. The club from Istanbul starts in the Conference League qualification. At Basaksehir, Karbownik would also meet a fellow countryman, Jakub Kaluzinski.
