It has been approved by the International Automobile Association FIA Michael Andretti an application to bring a team with its own name into the F1 series. Reported about it Sky Sports.
Andretti’s F1 place may have to wait for months, however, as the application also needs the approval of the owners of the F1 series.
The team would not replace the existing F1 team, but would become the 11th team in the pit. The debut season could be 2025, 2026 or 2027.
According to Sky Sports, the F1 series is believed to make its decision on purely commercial grounds. Andretti’s team would come from the United States, an important market for F1.
Andretti cooperates with Cadillac in its F1 project.
According to Fia, the application was the only one that met the strict criteria of the automotive association. There were three other candidates in the second stage of the application process.

Andretti is a former F1 driver from the McLaren team. His father is 1978 F1 world champion Mario Andretti.
