It’s called Backstage Heroes and it’s a new project that enriches the program of the Milan-Cortina Winter Games scheduled from February to 22nd. With this initiative, the winners of the various Olympic disciplines will receive a set of four additional medals which the Olympian will be able to donate to those who supported him on his approach path.

The project is the result of collaboration between the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (Ipzs), the Milano Cortina foundation and the Minister for Sport and Youth. “Our commitment – said the CEO of the State Printing and Mint Institute, Michele Sciscioli – is to promote the values ​​of sport through the creation of a medal dedicated to the backstage heroes, those who, behind the scenes, have concretely helped the athletes to obtain their exceptional results by supporting them every day, with perseverance, away from the spotlight”.

Ipzs, already a partner of the Milano Cortina Foundation for the creation of the Olympic and Paralympic medals of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, presented the Backstage Heroes project on the occasion of the seminar promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sport and Health and the Italian Trade Agency at the Palafiere in Bologna for the Davis Cup Finals 8 event to be held in the Emilian capital.
