Mayor’s decision rejected: “tents are already being built, refugees can arrive tomorrow”

The Council of State now suspends that decision, the refugee problem is more urgent than a possible PFAS contamination. According to our sources, tents are already under construction at the civil protection site. In theory, the refugees could arrive as early as tomorrow.

State Secretary De Moor went to the Council of State with a request for suspension in the event of extreme urgency. It is pointed out to her cabinet that she will also appeal against other mayoral decisions, because that is the legal course to follow. It is remarkable that Casteleyn and de Moor both belong to the same party (CD&V).
