Various residential areas are also being tackled. The Silico district in Koksijde-Dorp will receive new roads, sewers and cycle paths. The Quartier Sénégalais is planned in Koksijde-Bad, with a focus on housing and heritage.
In addition, Koksijde is working on more and more accessible nature. There will be additional investment in beach and dune experiences, new walking and cycling routes and the further development of the Hoge Duinen nature park. More than half a million euros has been provided for recreational infrastructure in nature reserves.
The municipality also invests in social cohesion. New community halls will be built in Wulpen and Oostduinkerke-Dorp, while the Silico district will have a community center. Together, more than 1 million euros has been allocated for youth and scouts, including an urban play zone by 2029.
