Johnny Deppe felt over
In an interview, Depp remained in 2020 when Warner Bros. asked him to give up his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the “Harry Potter” prequel.
The background was, among other things, his examination of the British tabloid “The Sun”, which had referred to him in an article about the reporting of his relationship and divorce of Amber Heard as “women’s racket”. After he had lost this defamation process, the film studio spent consequences and asked the actor to retreat.
“It was like a cut in time,” said the mime in conversation with “The Telegraph”. “They said they would like to see that I would step back. But what they actually meant was: they wanted me to retire.”
Nevertheless, the “Curse of the Caribbean” actor fell to the will of the studio, at least to the outside world. At the time, he said in his own statement: “I was asked by Warner Bros. to put my role as Grindelwald, and I approved this request.”
Behind the scenes, however, the American felt over and formulated it so drastically in the interview: “F— You. There are too many versions of me to be able to kill me. Anyone who thinks more to be able to hurt even than it has happened is huge.”
Future of the Franchise series still uncertain
Depp took on the role of the dark magician Grindelwald for the first time in 2016 at the end of “Fantastic Beasts and where to find them”, at that time still in the shadow of Colin Farrell’s figure Percival Graves. In 2018 he played the part again in “The Crimes of Grindelwald”. For the third part, “The Secrets of Dumbledore” (2022), he was then replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.
The “Fantastic Beasts” franchise series, originally planned as a five-part film series, has been on ice since then. Nothing was officially canceled, but nothing was announced. Johnny Depp, on the other hand, seems to have completed the chapter.

New chapter behind the camera
