Jay-Z celebrates Grammy win by sipping cognac from his award

He won his 24th Grammy – reason enough for him to have a drink from it.

At the 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday evening (February 4th), Jay-Z won an award in the “Dr. Dre Global Impact Award”. To celebrate this victory in his own unique way, the US rapper quickly converted his 24th trophy into a drinking vessel and poured cognac into it. Even before he went to the photo shoot with the award, the 54-year-old enjoyed a long sip from his multifunctional award and then beamed up to his ears in the hall filled with celebrities.

With the “Dr. Dre Global Impact Award honors Black music creators whose commitment and art has a major impact on the industry. Jay-Z accepted the award with his daughter Blue Ivy. On stage, he thanked him profusely for the award before criticizing the Recording Academy for once again not awarding his wife Beyoncé a Grammy for “Album of the Year”: “She has the most Grammys, but never one won for Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”
