Jaïr Ferwerda suddenly treats Rob Jetten like some kind of teenager in love. And the politician’s new male partner? He portrays her as a potential new first lady.

He will undoubtedly get on the nerves of most politicians, but as the political reporter of the late talk show on RTL 4, they cannot ignore it: the obligatory interviews with Jaïr Ferwerda. His items often have a somewhat goofy undertone and to appear nice in front of the camera you have to cooperate a little.

All you need is love

Jaïr’s latest contribution shows how he is waiting for Rob Jetten. His new love was featured on the cover of the weekly magazine Privé, with the headline: ‘Rob Jetten falls for hockey hunk’. “All you need is love, tutudududu, all you need is love, tutudududu,” the political reporter sings.

Rob: “A good mood today.”

Jaïr: “I’m in a very good mood. I saw you at Budget Day and I thought: you would politely introduce him to us, but that was not possible? Or do you?”

‘Come and introduce him!’

Rob and his hockey hunk made an appearance on Budget Day, but dissed Jaïr there. “Is this Mr. Jetten’s new love?” he asked them.

“Certainly!”, Rob replied, but they walked past Jaïr very quickly. The aggrieved reporter then shouted: “Come and introduce him properly!”

‘So exciting’

They didn’t really feel like that, Rob says now. “Yes, he found it so exciting that I thought…”

Jaïr: “Keep going! Keep walking in front of that camera!”

Rob: “I’m not going to do that to him!”

Then Jaïr dismisses Rob’s boyfriend as ‘the female in the relationship’: “Was this just an official campaign moment that we first lady come and introduce?”

Rob: “Well, no, no, no, no. But it was his first time public appearance had to just say it.”

Hockey hunk

VVD minister Christianne van der Wal also talks about Rob’s new love: “We call him the hockey hunk! Yeah, well, that’s quite a hockey hunk! Yes, definitely, yes! I’m sitting next to Rob, so I immediately asked him that.”

Jaïr concludes: “In The Hague people are only talking about one thing: Robbie Jetten’s hockey hunk.”

When the interview is over and Rob walks away, Jaïr says: “There he goes, the lovebird.”
