HSV handball players before the final end

Insolvency proceedings have been opened for the insolvent handball Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg. This was announced by insolvency administrator Gideon Böhm on Friday in Hamburg. The continuation of the season is more unlikely than ever.

“The game has not stopped, but I assume that we will have to announce that shortly,” said Böhm. The ongoing game operations cannot be financially secured. In the event of insolvency proceedings, gaming operations can generally be continued. If the procedure had been rejected, it would have resulted in the immediate forced relegation.

The team wanted to start training after the winter break on Friday, but canceled it. Böhm gave every professional of the 2013 Champions League winner the freedom to leave the club.
