Google has published its list of the most trending topics of 2025 – including the most searched musicians. At the top is D4vd, the singer who found himself at the center of a controversy, after the body of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in his Tesla this summer.

Suspicion of murder against D4vd

The release of the search data comes several weeks after Los Angeles Police Department investigator Joshua Byers described the case as a “homicide investigation” and asked the court for an order preventing the release of Rivas’ autopsy report. Byers argued that publicly releasing the details could jeopardize the murder investigation and needed to be protected, according to the LA Times.

A week earlier, sources told NBC News and ABC7 that D4vd was considered a suspect in Rivas’ death. The singer was on tour out of state when his beat-up 2023 Tesla Model Y was towed from the Bird Streets neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills on September 5. The towing company called police because the vehicle “emitted a foul odor and attracted flies,” according to a search request viewed by ROLLING STONE.

As for the Google search data that has now been published: The classification as “trending” means that search queries for D4vd 2025 increased particularly sharply over a longer period of time. Compared to 2024. D4vd was also in the top five most trending people overall.
