Bitter performance from striker
Yellow-red in four minutes: Curious sending off when the cup was eliminated
October 29, 2025 – 9:07 p.mReading time: 1 min.

When Greuther Fürth was eliminated in the second round of the DFB Cup, a Franconian player had a particularly bitter evening. His appearance only lasts a few minutes.
1. FC Kaiserslautern has given SpVgg Greuther Fürth another dampener in their mood and can dream of a new cup fairytale. In the 1-0 (1-0) duel between the second division soccer teams, Naatan Skyttä (12th minute) became the match winner for the 2024 cup finalists.
But things got strange in the final phase. In the spotlight: Omar Sillah from Fürth – who was shown a yellow-red card in just four minutes.
The 90th minute of the game: Fürth coach Thomas Kleine brings the attacker into the game for Maximilian Dietz. But something is already going wrong here – Sillah runs onto the pitch too early and is immediately shown a yellow card by referee Marc Philip Eckermann.
It continued in exactly the same way. There are six minutes of added time in Fürth. And the drama continues.
90. +4: Sillah is too impetuous in the duel with Kaiserslautern’s Mika Haas and trips up his opponent. Referee Eckermann has no other choice: yellow again – and yellow-red for the striker after just four minutes. He no longer understands the world.
And ultimately had to watch helplessly as his team was narrowly eliminated from the cup with a score of 0-1. He couldn’t really fulfill his role as Joker.
