FC Bayern | Ex-keeper Früchtl wants to return to Germany

In his seven years at FC Bayern, Christian Früchtl was denied a breakthrough into the Munich professional team. He only played one competitive game as a goalkeeper for the German record champions and finally moved to Austria Wien in the summer of 2022. However, the goalkeeper’s dream of becoming a German Bundesliga goalkeeper lives on to this day.

In an interview with “Sky”, Früchtl made no secret of the fact that he still dreams of returning to the German top flight, where he played his only game so far on matchday 34 of the 2021/2022 season.

“Of course I would like to play for a top club at some point. You never know how quickly it will happen or whether it will happen at all,” he told the TV station when asked about his sporting future.

Früchtl has been under contract with Vienna Austria since the summer of 2022, where he has established himself as number one between the posts with 62 competitive appearances to date.

His contract in the Austrian capital runs until 2025, but according to “Sky” information, he can leave the club for a fee in the “low, single-digit million range”.

Früchtl is currently seventh in Austria with Austria Wien

“Going back to Germany to the Bundesliga would be a dream,” Früchtl made no secret of his career goal of returning to the German upper house.

In the 2020/2021 season, Früchtl had already tried out away from FC Bayern when he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg in the 2nd Bundesliga on loan. However, he never once scored in goal for the club in a competitive game.

However, exactly where Früchtl could go in the future is still completely open. The Austria goalkeeper, who ranks seventh in the Bundesliga table in Austria with his current club, assured that he wanted to carefully weigh up the offers that would arise in the future.
