Former MTV news anchor Keijo Leppänen remembers his colleague Arvi Lindi. Lind was Yle’s long-time news anchor. He passed away at the age of 85.
Leppänen says that the news of Lindi’s death was shocking and shocking.
– I hadn’t heard that Arvi was in bad shape. It came as a complete surprise, says Leppänen.
Leppänen says that he last met Lindi at a book fair about five years ago. Leppänen remembers that they talked for a long time.
Leppänen describes Lind as being socially gifted and a good companion.
– Even though we did the same work, we didn’t meet often. Every time we met, he noticed that there was no wall between them, but he always took Laaki as his friend. The young colleague felt good about it, says Leppänen.
– He was a role model for the employees of the same company who came after him and also for our competitors on the MTV side, Leppänen recalls.

MTV Uutinen news anchor Jan Andersson tells his memories of his colleague Lind via text message. Andersson previously worked at Yle at the same time as Lind.
– I personally remember Arvi as a man who got along with everyone. Even though he was a big star, he didn’t really let it affect anything, Andersson says.
– I got to know him when I joined Yleisradio in 1996, and at that time the Finnish and Swedish newsrooms were right next to each other. Arvi always used to wonder how to pronounce this or that Swedish word or name. He wanted to make sure everything was going just right.
– That’s how he was, really precise but relaxed and jovial in the same package. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.
