A few days ago, in an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper, Suárez hadmark‘ explains that MLS is ‘one of the options that I think is the most likely’, but he’s still thinking about it and is ‘enjoying’ his time at Nacional. He ruled out a return to Europe. “Yes, because I’ve already had a European career and I’m very proud of it. Before I came to Nacional I had many, many opportunities, but that was also the reason for coming back to my country: Groningen, Ajax, Liverpool, Barça, Atlético… There could have been a better career in Europe than this ? (…) It was perfect.”
Luis Suárez before moving to Los Angeles Galaxy: reunion with Puig
Should the attacker, who has contributed four goals and three assists in nine Primera División games during his second spell with Nacional, opt for Los Angeles, he would meet a former companion from Barcelona in Riqui Puig (23). The central midfielder joined the MLS club on a free transfer in the summer – and with a market value of 7 million euros is currently the most valuable professional in the squad. In addition, with Martín Cáceres (35) and Gastón Brugman (30) there are two of Suárez’s compatriots in the LA team. While Cáceres’ working paper ends in December, Brugman’s is still dated until 2025.
