Everton hopes to complete the transfer with ex-Cologne Guirassy

Ex-Cologne could leave Rennes

The former Cologne player Serhou Guirassy (26) is planning a move to the Premier League. After his adventure with the Domstadters between 2016 and 2019, the striker returned to his native France, where he has developed into a reliable goalscorer in recent years. He could now be drawn to Everton FC via stations Amiens SC and FC Stade Rennes. As the “L’Equipe“ reported, Guirassy is currently the top priority for the English. According to the report, the Premier League club are hoping to finalize the transfer by the end of this week. It is also said that the striker is flirting with a move to the “Toffees”.

At Stade Rennes, where Guirassy is still under contract until 2025, a new attacker was recently put in front of him with the signing of Arnaud Kalimuendo (20). As of now, coach Bruno Génésio can fall back on four players for the storm center. Guirassy has featured in 80 games since his €15m arrival in 2020, contributing 25 goals and four assists. While he was still a regular in his first season with the Red-Blacks, he did not get beyond the role of joker in the past season. At Stade Rennes, for example, he averages 43 minutes per game. With his hits, he recorded a slight increase from 9 to currently 10 million euros in the most recent market value update. In addition to Everton, RC Straßburg Alsace are said to be interested in Guirassy.

In the “Toffees”, the right foot would meanwhile remedy the understaffed storm. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin (25) absent for weeks, coach Frank Lampard has only Salomón Rondón (32) as nominally the only striker available, but the Venezuelan was not part of the squad in the 0-1 draw against Chelsea on Matchday 1. Instead, talented Anthony Gordon (21), who was originally intended for the wings, played at the front.
