Ensor’s art gets a leading role in a new video game

After an earlier edition about Mondriaan, Studio Waterzooi developed a sequel in collaboration with the Flemish government based on the oeuvre of James Ensor.

The game immerses players in the universe of the Ostend painter. In four different worlds, you will discover hidden treasures and unravel the mysteries of his famous paintings. Along the way you solve puzzles and repair holes and cracks in the paintings. The game is suitable for everyone, from young to old.

Because the EU presidency coincides with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the death of James Ensor, the Flemish government decided to pay extra attention to culture. The painter was thus linked to the youngest branch of art: game development.

The video game can be downloaded for free on smartphone, tablet, PC and Mac.
