Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is extremely convinced of his team’s qualities and personally considers a continuation of his career beyond the end of the contract with Eintracht Frankfurt. The 34-year-old goalkeeper had returned to the Hesse at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of August 2018 and has proven to be one of the corner pipes in recent years.

“If I have read the contract correctly, I have another year by 2026 and an option for another year. I can already imagine staying far longer than the remaining contract year, but we have not yet spoken. There is still enough time for that ”; Trapp told media representatives according to the “Allgemeine Zeitung”.

Trapp only needs 41 games to catch up with Frankfurt’s record goalkeeper Oka Nikolov. He may have reached this without major injuries before the end of the coming season. Trapp should also move in to the top 10 of the club’s general record players.

On the subject of DFB nomination, the veteran kept covered: “I don’t know if my name falls or not. We actually talked a lot about this topic. As long as I bring my performance, I can’t blame myself. I try to do that. That also works quite well, I would say. You will see what is then in terms of national team. ” Trapp had his last of a total of nine missions in the national jersey on November 21, 2023 at 0-2 in Austria.

From the current squad of Eintracht, Trapp, however, holds a lot: “Axel Hellmann (board spokesman; d. Red.) This time did not lean out as far as last year when he spoke of the best team during his Eintracht period. Then I say something now. In my view, we have certainly had the most talented and strongest team for a long time. Many young players develop well. A very successful squad was put together this year. But especially among the young players, the performance can fluctuate. I have the feeling that we can go through it until the end of the season because everyone wants to get the maximum out. Everyone is doing well, the balance between young and experienced players is very good. “
