Dream start against SC Genemuiden should not benefit HZVV. Jaap Scholing’s team has a water chance of enforcement

HZVV did not grab the penultimate straw to prevent direct relegation. The team from Hoogeveen started the game against SC Genemuiden well, but eventually lost 3-2. There is still a water chance of enforcement in the 4th division B.

The team of interim coach Jaap Scholing met an opponent in SC Genemuiden who is in third position in the rankings, but no longer plays for anything. The title in the fourth division B has already been given to Eemdijk and the team from the Carpet City already has a period title in its pocket.

An interesting detail in this match: at SC Genemuiden, Yoran Popovic, a former player of HZVV, will play in red and white again next season.

Dream start

The attacker was not involved in the initial phase, because he was for HZVV. The Hoogeveners showed initiative and were rewarded after just four minutes. Tim Riksman was held within the penalty area and Alex Zomer shot the penalty against the ropes.

A dream start that was not followed up when it came to scoring goals. Because although Sander Dzemidzic still had a chance, the Genemuiders equalized halfway through the first half. In the 37th minute it even became 2-1 for the home team and both teams also went into halftime with that score.

New downer

After tea, HZVV soon had to deal with a new downer. The Hoogeveners first created some danger, but after five minutes of play, SC Genemuiden scored again. Substitute Tim Mulder made it 3-2, but that was it.

The (relatively) good news for HZVV came from Barneveld. SDV beat Flevo Boys there in a relegation cracker. As a result, direct enforcement is now also mathematically impossible, but HZVV can still trace Flevo Boys. The gap is 5 points with two matches to go.
