The United Arab Emirates has extradited one of the leaders of the criminal organization No Limit Soldiers (NLS) to Curaçao. The Emirates Supreme Court recently approved the extradition of Shurandy Q. The Public Prosecution Service in Curaçao announced this on Tuesday.
Sources say to the NOS that Q. was taken to the Extra Secure Institution (EBI) in Vught.
Curaçao requested extradition of the suspect in September 2024, who was arrested in Dubai in 2020. The extradition procedure took a long time because Q. decided to legally challenge the extradition.
On September 23 last year, Urvin ‘Nuto’ W. was sentenced to life in prison in Curaçao. W., together with Q., is said to have led the No Limit Soldiers gang for many years, which was actively involved in drug and arms trafficking and assassinations of rival gangs. He was arrested in the Dominican Republic in 2023 and extradited to Curaçao a year later.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the extradition of Q. has completed ‘the most important part’ of the investigation into the NLS gang.
