Trump talks about Putin visit to the 2026 World Cup

The World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico will take place in one year. FIFA boss Gianni Infantino therefore paid a visit to Donald Trump.
Donald Trump was given the World Cup cup from FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “This is a beautiful piece of gold,” enthused the US President in the Oval Office and asked the head of football association: “May I keep it?”
Trump was reserved to announce at the joint appointment in the White House: The draw for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada will take place on December 5th in Washington. In the cultural institution Kennedy Center in the US capital, the lots are drawn. Most recently, it was speculated that the draw in Las Vegas was aligned.
During sports, Trump didn’t stay too long. The US President pulled out a photo of himself and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin from the controversial Alaska summit to the Ukraine War. To do this, Trump wore a cap with the inscription: “Trump was right about everything!” (In German: Trump was right!).
“This man is called Vladimir Putin, from whom I assume that he will come, depending on what happens,” said Trump when he spoke about the World Cup next year. But that remains doubtful, because Russia will not be there at the World Cup. The country has been suspended in world football since the beginning of the war of aggression, and the national team must not take part in the qualification.
While Trump was still optimistic during a visit to Putin, he was even more reserved at a meeting between Putin and the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj – and dared to see an unusual comparison: “We will see whether Putin and Selenskyj will work together. You know that it is a bit like oil and vinegar. They don’t get along too well with each other, for obvious reasons.”
